Job Summary:
Join our customer’s team as a Federal Grants Compliance Officer and play a critical role in ensuring adherence to federal regulations for research funding. In this remote, expert-level position, you will oversee post-award compliance for grants from institutions such as the NSF, NIH, or DoD, and support audit response efforts for major universities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply complex federal regulations, policies, and guidelines to sponsored research activities.
- Oversee post-award compliance, ensuring all activities align with requirements set forth by federal funding agencies (NSF, NIH, DoD).
- Respond to federal audits and inquiries, compiling documentation and crafting comprehensive responses.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across institutional departments to resolve compliance risks and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, update, and deliver training materials and guidance on grant compliance to internal teams.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal processes and controls accordingly.
- Craft clear, concise written communications and present complex findings verbally to leadership and external agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in federal grant post-award management within agencies such as NSF, NIH, or DoD.
- Demonstrated experience managing federal audit responses at research-intensive universities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and other federal grants compliance frameworks.
- Impeccable attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships.
- Strong self-management skills in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in public administration, law, finance, or related field.
- Prior experience in developing policy or training for grants compliance programs.
- Professional certifications such as CRA, CPRA, or CCA.
